Eco-responsabilityEco-Responsibility In an effort to promote eco-responsibility, various measures have been implemented to reduce the environmental impact of the conference. An award will also be given to recognize the most eco-responsible behavior (see the last section on this page). Mobility For most participants, transportation will be the main source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. To estimate these emissions, you can use the ADEME simulator below. Insert the ADEME widget here. For example, here is an illustration of the emissions associated with different modes of transport from several major cities: The round-trip emissions for the Toulon-Giens shuttle (50 km) are estimated at approximately 1.5 kg CO₂e per passenger (emission factor used: "Coach/Diesel, mainland France, 2021" 0.0295 kg CO₂e/passenger/km, ADEME). The emissions for the boat trip to Porquerolles are estimated at 3.3 kg CO₂e per passenger (data provided by TVM). Giveaways Locally sourced, responsible products. Paper Reduction No printed program. Plastic Reduction Cardboard badges. Waste No disposable tableware. Participants are encouraged to use water fountains with their eco-cups or water bottles. Catering Vegetarian banquet. Award An award will be given to recognize the most eco-responsible behavior. Since emissions from travel from the city of origin to Giens are generally the most significant and variable among participants, this aspect has been chosen as the basis for the award using the following metric (impacts will be calculated using the ADEME simulator above): Score = distance between city of departure and Giens (km) / impact of the mode of transport for 1000 km (kg CO₂e per 1000 km) The award will be given to the participant with the highest score. Participants wishing to apply for this award are invited to send a message to the organizing committee at csma2026-ecomobilite@sciencesconf.org, specifying their mode of transport. |
